Welcome to BAC Local 7 Tile, Marble & Terrazzo
The leadership and members of BAC Local 7, Tile, Marble and Terrazzo, from New York and New Jersey would like to welcome you to our website. Hopefully our web site should enlighten you about who we are and what we do for the middle class in the great states we represent and work in.
As far back as the 1800s, North American masonry-trowel trade’s workers protected their wages and working conditions by forming unions and associations. In 1823, for example, journeymen stone cutters in New York City went on strike in support of the 10-hour workday, and in 1835 masons in Troy, New York went on strike for higher wages.
The leadership and members of the BAC have always supported the middle class by helping to establish the 8-hour work day, 5-day work week, implementing health insurance and pensions for it’s members, negotiating higher wages, teaching safety and related training, supporting the family and medical leave act and encouraging fair treatment for women, people of all ethnic backgrounds, and those with disabilities.
At Local 7 we are always looking for the best and brightest that our area has to offer. If you're experienced journeymen, visit the Training page to learn more about us and How to Join! If you're interested in our Apprenticeship Program you can learn more about it through our website.
We encourage you learn more About Us, we hope that you enjoy your time on our site, and finally, we welcome you to Contact Us.
